Pacific Door Systems are pioneering manufacturers of industry-specific door and window systems. Specialising in Fire, Acoustic, Hospital and Commercial Door and Window systems that all exceed the best industry manufacturing and testing standards.

Pacific Doors are a New Zealand owned business that have been at the forefront of their industry for over 20 years. A business so robust and innovative, that the thought of investing in their brand to help them win or even maintain their business was in the Directors words ‘laughable’. However, knowing branding like we do and knowing the rapid change in business due to the ‘digital disruption’ that the world is experiencing, we

knew that Pacific Doors were making a significant mistake to neglect their brand and their website the way that they were. Some months later Pacific Doors called to let us know that they were starting to lose business to companies that shouldn’t even be in the running. They had become aware that a younger breed of executives were starting to call the shots, and they were being viewed as ‘old school’.

To embrace a brand refresh when you’re forced to isn’t ideal, but all credit to Pacific Doors, they embraced it with vigour and were determined to not only be the best provider in the industry, but also to offer the most useful website, and re-establish themselves as the most respected brand in their industry. We approached Pacific Doors rebrand

and website by firstly looking to their audience to find the most effective way to position PDS in the market. With 2 main target audiences; building installers and architects, we set about investigating their needs in relation to Door and Window specifications and formed a communication strategy that would lead to newly invigorated business.

My first impression of Julian was that he was the offspring of d’Artagnan and some random gypsy woman. However, one hour later, my usually sceptical outlook had begrudgingly turned into the perception that this passionate man had both the experience and ability, to walk the talk. We now see Spire as a “partner” and have accordingly involved Julian and his team in numerous additional and sometimes abstract activities, all of which have been brought to a successful conclusion.

Our solution was to combine all the intellectual property that installers and architects need to specify certain projects on the one website. Previously they had to visit several websites to collect the various data, but with the new website, Pacific Doors was able to promise the most convenient website for specifying Door and Window Systems in NZ. The website now houses; Fire rating standards, accessory listings, trim size calculators, testing facility videos and downloadable CAD files for every

door and window system. This offering was marketed to their target audiences via a number of tactics and channels to rebuff the belief that they were old school. Due to SEO integration a specific page alignment, Pacific Doors is now enjoying contracts from Australia, a market they had been unable to gain traction in prior to the rebrand, and have re-established themselves as leaders in their industry.
